Puerto Rico's all-inclusive resorts are few and far between

Seeking Luxury

Travelers looking to spend some time in Puerto Rico have plenty of accommodation options, but one option is extremely limited: the all-inclusive resort. While the all-inclusive resort is one of the most popular options on other islands such as Jamaica, the opposite is true on Puerto Rico. However, interested visitors can still find several all-inclusive options.

Many people feel that all-inclusive resorts are a great deal. After all, you pay one set price for all of your food and entertainment, so you know exactly how much to budget for that portion of the trip before you even leave home. It's a weight off of many travelers' minds and helps to take away some of the pressure of pre-vacation planning. However, vacationers should keep in mind that different all-inclusive resorts have different definitions of"all inclusive." Check with the individual resort to see what they include in their price.

Others feel that all of the in-resort activities and meals detract from the experience of visiting a Caribbean island. With so many other tourists and planned activities, all-inclusives make some people feel that they are actually losing something. Getting a true taste of Puerto Rican culture would certainly be more difficult without stepping outside of the resort's confines. Likewise, the resort's menu would probably have little local flair.

Visitors looking to stay in luxurious surroundings in Puerto Rico often find it a little easier to find such accommodations in a resort that is not all-inclusive. However, there are all kinds of lodgings in Puerto Rico, and it is up to you to make your final decision.
